Reading/Opening Emails: –

  1. 26% use iPhone
  2. 13% use Outlook
  3. 13% use iPad
  4. 10% use Gmail
  5. 10% use Android
  6. 8% use Apple Mail
  7. 5% use Outlook.com
  8. 5% use Yahoo Mail
  9. 3% use Windows Live Mail
  10. 2% use Windows Mail

39% of the above is on an iOS device! These stats indicate emails should be mobile ready before sending. 

Since 2011 – mobile use has increased 400% (with 70% of the users being between 18-44 years old)

Engagement: –

  1. 53% of emails opened on an iPhone were actually read! 26% deleted
  2. 66% of emails opened on an Windows Phone were actually read! 13% deleted

Subject Matter: –

  1. Don’t use the word “Newsletter” in subject line
  2. Keep subject line short
  3. Personalise your emails with recipients first name
  4. Tell subscribers what the email will do for them
  5. Thank recipients right in the subject line
  6. Include the word “Download” in subject line to triple your engagement
  7. Avoid using the word “Quick” in subject lines
